About The Bridle Path Neighborhood

The Bridle Path neighborhood is named after its namesake street. A notable feature of this area is its abundance of lush green spaces and ravines, which create natural boundaries and define various pockets within the neighborhood. The homes are true mansions that provide practicality for their owners. They offer privacy, often set back from the road with long driveways and gated grounds, ideal for entertaining and hosting events. Many homes feature multiple car garages, underground garages, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, staff quarters, wine cellars, dog runs, and even ballrooms.

Although many original homes remain, there has been significant redevelopment with new owners building larger, modern luxury homes that optimize the use of their expansive lots.

I would be pleased to assist in providing luxury marketing for your property or helping qualified buyers find a home in The Bridle Path.

Location and Boundaries

The Bridle Path stretches from Bayview Avenue south to Lawrence Avenue and east to Edwards Gardens. The west border is often defined by the ravine west of Bayview Avenue, extending north to York Mills Avenue. Spectacular views of greenery and the Rosedale Golf Club from homes on the west side of Arjay Crescent and Bayview Ridge are highly sought after.

History and Development

The Bridle Path was founded by Alexander Milne in 1827 on what is now Edwards Gardens. Initially a woolen and saw mill, it was moved to the Don River in 1833 due to a lack of water. Until the early 1930s, the land was farmland. In 1930, a bridge was built over the Don River, transforming The Bridle Path into a residential community. Toronto developer Bull Page envisioned this land as an exclusive neighborhood for estate homes. Known as "Millionaire’s Row," it is home to some of Toronto’s, Canada’s, and the world's renowned stars.

Amenities and Lifestyle

The Bridle Path offers convenient shopping options at an outdoor plaza at Bayview and York Mills, Bayview Village, an indoor plaza with shops and restaurants, and The Shops of Don Mills, another outdoor plaza with shops and restaurants.

Nestled among green spaces, The Bridle Path provides beautiful paths for walking and biking. It also offers top-notch education, being minutes away from Crescent School, The Toronto French School, Havergal College, and Glendon College.

The Granite Club offers a true country club feeling in the city with amenities including year-round tennis, squash, badminton, fitness facilities, an aquatics center, and fine dining. Sunnybrook Hospital is just south of the neighborhood on Bayview Avenue, south of Lawrence.
